Facilities --> Computer Centers
The Departments of
Computer Science & Engineering and Computer Science & Information
Technology have different Computer Centers.
Computer Center – I
The facility is equipped with a total of 120 machines, in which
30 machines are dumb terminals connected to a Centralized Linux
Server. The Server Operating System is Red Hat Linux 5.2 and all the
dumb terminals are connected via LAN cables to dual module 16 port
Multi Port Serial Card (Stallion Make). The students use these
machines for C on Unix and for LEX (Lexical Analyzer) & YACC
(Parser).
Computer Center – II
Server Room contains a Novell Netware 4 server to which 60
Diskless clients are connected. All the Client Machines are AMD,
Intel Pentium III, Intel Celeron Processor Machines and connect to
server via LAN using code written on the Boot ROM‘s on LAN Cards.
Lab schedules like C, C++ are conducted here.
Computer Center – III
Rest of the 30 machines are smart terminals which are Intel P IV
3.0 GHz Processor, 256 MB DDR RAM, 80 GB HDD etc.,. These Machines
are loaded with Windows XP Professional software and are connected
to a Wipro Branded - Intel Xeon 3.0 GHz Dual Processor, 2 GB RAM and
34.03 GB x 4 SCSI HDD and Redundant Power supply Server placed in
the Server room in the Computer Center.
Computer Center – IV
Majority of the schedules in the computer center are categorized
for first Year Engineering Graduates for C & DS Lab sessions. Apart
from the First Year, Second Third and Final Year Engineering
Graduate‘s lab schedules are also scheduled here.
Computer Center – V
All the lab schedules pertaining to Second Third and Final Year
Engineering student‘s are conducted in this center. Individual
students are given the login ID‘s and their data is securely taken
backups at regular intervals.
Computer Center – VI
Computer Lab schedules viz., C, C++, OOPS using Java, RDBMS, UML,
etc., are conducted here.
List of Licensed Software:
The Institute has already registered itself with Microsoft Inc.
for Microsoft Development Network Campus Agreement 3.02, The process
of the above mentioned software agreement would be continued every
academic year. Apart from the Campus agreement, the Department of
Computer Science and Engineering has registered itself for Microsoft
Development Network Academic Alliance Program, under which the
department receives regular fortnight updates from Microsoft.
The Institute is a registered user of Oracle 10 g Complete Suite.
Apart from the complete range of products covered under the MS
Campus Agreement, Academic Alliance Programs and Oracle the
institute has all the compilers like C, C++, TASM & MASM.
Further to all the licensed software the institute is always in
the process of upgrading its software keeping up to the latest
trends and technologies available. All the computer centers in
campus are interlinked and data from any machine can be accessed
anywhere in campus, with suitable authorizations.
